Encarnacion

Hola!

Viikko on pian takana ja vaikka miten valtavasti on kokemuksia kertynyt matkalla.
Melko kuvapainotteinen  kertomus on taas edessä joten eiköhän aloiteta :)

One week almost completed and there is already so much to tell, but I´ll concentrate on the pictures and let them tell the story.


So on our way from the capital, Acuncion to Encarnacion we had few breaks. But on the way we had time to read the news ;)
Matkalla oli taukoja, mutta ehdimme lukea lehteäkin...

 Every Paraguayan has a Yerba where you have either hot or cold drink made out of tee-like grinded leaves and water. The cold drink is called terere and the same drink but with hot water, it is mate. So this is our designated driver, Umberto at the local gas station making terere.

Jokainen itseään kunnioittava Paraguayalainen juo lähes taukoamatta paikallista juomaa. Juoma valmistetaan Yerba nimiseen astiaan, jonka mukana kulkee muki/metallinen pilli. Juoma tehdään lehdista kuten tee ja maistuukin hieman vihreältä teeltä. Kuumana juoma on nimeltään mate ja kylmänä terere. Paikallisella ABC asemalla kuskimme Umberto valmisti lisää juomaa :)

 Yerba

So we finally made it to Encarnacion. First things first and this is how it ended. We got the Rings.... around our wrists. The situation with Dengue fever is in Asuncion really bad, and it is expected to come here in Encarnacion as well. So we got these bracelets from the pharmacy to protect us. (we still need to use the repellent as well)

Encarnacioniin saavuttuamme me pääsimme asian ytimeen ja rengastimme toisemme... tosin nämä rinkulat tuli ranteeseen suojaamaan hyttysiltä. Erityisesti Asuncionissa on paljon Dengue kuumetta ja sen oletetaan leviävän myös tänne Encarnacioniin... joten emme halua ottaa turhia riskejä. Toki edelleen saa läträtä hyttyskarkoitteen kanssa.

P.S. tää rinkula haisee ihan älyttömän pahalle! - this bracelet stinks!

Tapaamassa pormestaria - meeting the mayor of Encarnacion!

Zdenko mittailemassa veden syvyyksiä ja katsasamassa rantaa.

Toinen ranta Posadas eli Argentiinan puoli. 

After meeting the mayor we went for a tour. We visited many places but ofcourse we were interested about the beach where the future lifeguards will be employed. We measured and took pictures of the beach.

Pormestarin tapaamisen jälkeen menimme kiertoajelulle ja toki vierailimme myös rannalla, jonne tulevat rantavahdit tulevat työllistymään. Otimme kuvia ja mittailinne etäisyyksiä.

In our tour we were taken also to the places with not so pleasurable wievs. 

Kierroksella näimme elämän kirjoa laidasta laitaan. 

On the next day we were on a trip to Posadas, Argentina. A nice city right across the river. 

Seuraavana päivänä oltiin Posadasissa, Argentiinassa katselemassa kaupunkin. Paljon rauhallisempi ja siistimpi paikka. Ja matkaa noin 30min!!!

Punaisella Ristillä ei ollut ketään kotona, joten ehkä ens kerralla :)

Viimeisenä, muuta ei suinkaan vähäisempänä juttuna haluan mainita Iisakki Laulajaisen. Mies suomesta, joka muuttamt  vuonna miekka ja kilpi Paraguayhin. Tarina ei kerro miksi, mutta todellinen suomalainen tervaskanto kyllä! Vielä ysikymppisena ukkeli painaa menemään pellolla!

So, This was it. The last pictures were taken at Mr. Iisakki Laulaja´s place. A finnish guy whom has been here in Paraguay since 1940´s. A brave man.
